Highlands County Courthouse Visited by Children's Discovery Camp |

| Children at
Discovery Camp hosted by the Children's Museum of Highlands County visited the Highlands
County Courthouse on June 25, 2009 to learn about our court system. The kids were
elementary age ranging from 6-12 years old and were lead by their teacher, Brenda Huggins.
Circuit Judges Olin Shinholser, Angela Cowden and Peter Estrada hosted the event
along with Highlands County Clerk of Court, Bob Germaine. Bailiffs Doug Klemn and
Kate Clemment also assisted with the courtroom presentation. The children learned
about courtroom procedures, the job of the Clerk of Court and the roles of the Judge,
Clerk, Bailiff and Attorneys. They also participated in a mock trial playing each of
the roles themselves. As always, it was a pleasure having the kids visit!
