PURCHASING SPECIALIST |
This responsible professional work in the office of the Court Administrator. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for communicating with court employees in response to purchasing and procurement issues; communicate with vendors regarding goods and services, contact with other agencies throughout the state regarding general governmental operations. This position confirms that purchasing policies and procedures are being compiled with, and helps to develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures relevant to the Purchasing Card and the purchasing of goods and services. Working relationships are established with Judges, State Courts System personnel, state and local government, vendors and the public. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Administrator Services Manager. Education and Training Guidelines A Bachelors degree from an accredited four year college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, economics or public administration, and two years experience in budget, accounting, planning, or other related professional experience. Experience in an area described above may substitute for the recommended education on a year for year basis. Experience in State of Florida purchasing preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the computer including, Microsoft word & Excel, GAFRS, SAMAS, and the FLAIR system. Ability to research and retrieve data from the Internet. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish work priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of MyFlorida Marketplace and county purchasing systems a plus. Knowledge of State and local purchasing guidelines, use of PCARD. |
