IN AND FOR HARDEE, HIGHLANDS AND POLK COUNTIES, FLORIDA

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 1-34.0

IN RE: IMAGING AND MICROFILMING OF SEALED RECORDS

 

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Court that in completing the process of imaging and microfilming sealed court records, the Clerks of the Circuit Court offices must open sealed documents in order to preserve their content, and

            WHEREAS, it would involve unnecessary time delay to seek the permission from individual judges for the opening of each sealed record, it is hereby

            ORDERED:

1.                That the Clerk of the Circuit Courts of Hardee, Highlands and Polk Counties, or the designated employee of same, shall be allowed to unseal such records for the purpose of imaging or microfilming such records, provided they are resealed or destroyed after completion of the imaging or microfilming process.

2.                That imaged or microfilmed copies of such records shall be kept in a manner so as to protect their confidentiality.
