IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE TENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT
IN AND FOR POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 4-8.0
RE: AUTHORITY OF BANKS WHEN PRESENTED WITH LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION OR GUARDIANSHIP
IT HAVING come to the attention of the Court that area banks are increasingly reluctant
to honor Letters of Guardianship or Administration for the purpose of allowing a Guardian
or Personal Representative access to the ward or decedent's safety deposit box, it is
hereby
ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that upon presentation of either Letters of Guardianship or Letters
of Administration to a financial institution where the Ward or Decedent has a safety
deposit box, the institutional officer is hereby authorized, without further order or
direction from this Court, to allow the Guardian or Personal Representative access to said
safety deposit box for those purposes allowed by law.
DONE AND ORDERED on this 6th day of October, 1994.
RANDALL G. MCDONALD, Chief Judge
