IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE TENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

IN AND FOR POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2-53.0

IN RE: SPLITTING OF MULTI-DEFENDANT CASE FILES

WHEREAS it has come to the attention of the Court that there are certain advantages to the splitting of multi-defendant case files into separate case files for each named defendant, and

WHEREAS the court wants to insure that it is clearly understood that the physical separation of the files does not constitute nor does it imply severance of the defendants in the case, unless the court specifically so orders, it is hereby

ORDERED that the Office of the Clerk of Polk County is authorized to split multi-defendant case files so as to create individual case files for each defendant. The case numbering system in effect currently shall remain in effect. Each case file shall contain the original information or indictment and each file will contain all original instruments affecting those individual defendants.

This order shall take effect upon and shall have no retroactive application.

DONE AND ORDERED on this 5th day of January, 1999.
