ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 2-32.0
RE: DISBURSEMENT OF COURT ORDERED PAYMENTS PURSUANT TO FLORIDA STATUTE 960
Whereas the Florida Department of Corrections has the responsibility of disbursing court ordered restitution payments to crime victims; and;
Whereas the Department of Corrections cannot always locate a crime victim entitled to restitution because at the time the restitution is collected from the defendant, the victim has moved and cannot be located; and,
Whereas there exists the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund which exists, in part, to assist victims of crime in recovering restitution;
It is ORDERED as follows:
1. The Florida Department of Corrections in the Tenth Circuit shall disburse to the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund, those funds that cannot be disbursed directly to the victim because the victim(s) is unable to be located.
2. In the event the victim comes forward at a future date or is located by the Department of Corrections; the victim may claim any funds paid to their account by requesting same from the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund.
